Along with being a mission hospital and a center of the Liberian National Health System, being a reference in the training of professionals in the country is one of our main goals.
One of main issues that slow the health services coverage and implementation in the country is the need of doctors. Running long term training programs organized with western and European medical associations could allow us to incorporate new Liberian doctors to the National Health System.
That´s why in Saint Joseph´s Catholic Hospital we make a constant effort for bringing the most effective medical technology and specialists from abroad, and we offer this knowledge not only to our own staff but to other Hospitals and health professionals.
Furthermore, Saint Joseph’s Catholic Hospital has agreements with the main teaching institutions in health sciencies of Liberia, participating in training of Interns from A.M. Dogliotti Medical College (University of Liberia). It also runs programs that are open to other facilities and teaching institutions as Mother Patern Colleges of Health Sciencies and Cuttington University.
These are some of the training courses we have held:
Fundamentals in Intensive Care Medicine
Hemathology & microbiology for Laboratory technicians
Pediatric Surgery and Neonatal Emergencies and Resuscitation
